Community Impact

Wallingford

For a century, Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals has been more than a business in Wallingford; it's a cornerstone of community support. From job creation to philanthropy, their presence echoes beyond industry walls. As the town grew, so did Ulbrich's commitment, fostering a shared journey of progress and prosperity. Whether through employment opportunities or local initiatives, their legacy intertwines with the heartbeat of Wallingford, nurturing a symbiotic relationship that enriches both.

Fred Ulbrich Memorial Fund

The Ulbrich Family is proud to continue the work of Frederick Christian Ulbrich, Jr., in the community that he loved and cherished by supporting youth development through fundraising, engagement, and charitable contributions for causes related to education, arts, and athletics.

“That is what made this man so special. It was easy to be in awe of his business accomplishments, but he would have none of that….. everyone was made to feel they had a friend in Fred Ulbrich.” - Stephen Knight, The Record-Journal

Fred Jr. was an active member for his community. He was a founding member of the Wallingford Rotary Club, the former Director of the Oakdale Musical Theater, campaign Chairman of the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford, and Co-Chairman of the Ulbrich Boys and Girls Club in Wallingford, among others. The YMCA's summer program is named Camp Ulbrich in honor of his constant support and fundraising efforts.
